Biography

Christian Poltéra was born in Zurich. After training with Nancy Chumachenco and Boris Pergamenschikov, he went on to study with Heinrich Schiff in Salzburg and Vienna. In 2004, he won the Borletti-Buitoni Award and was appointed a BBC New Generation Artist. As a soloist, he has performed with leading orchestras in Europe and the USA. He is also active in chamber music with artists such as Isabelle Faust, Leif Ove Andsnes and Kathryn Stott, and is part of a trio with Esther Hoppe and Ronald Brautigam. His discography is widely acclaimed.
