Frauke Roth

Biography
Frauke Roth was born in Hamburg and studied the flute in Freiburg and London. In 1998, she took the lead of the Ensemble Oriol Berlin, merging it with the Kammerakademie Potsdam. Since 2015, she has been general manager of the Dresden Philharmonic, transforming the Kulturpalast into a model venue and significantly boosting the orchestra’s profile and attendance. Roth is active in cultural policy and lives with her family in Dresden and Potsdam.

During the second round of the Conducting Competition, the 12 selected candidates will be leading the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. Each candidate will have 45 minutes to run through an excerpt from Stravinsky’s Danses concertantes and work on excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings and Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, selected by random draw:
