Biography

Trained by Josef Loibl at the Musikhochschule in Munich, bass Markus Hollop's career has taken him to some of the world’s most important stages, where he has appeared with renowned directors and conductors. His recording of Ferrucio Busoni's Doktor Faust, in which he sang the roles of Wagner and the Master of Ceremonies, won a Gramophone Award in the Best Opera Recording category in 2001. Since 2016, in addition to his singing activities, he has worked as artistic production and casting manager at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
