Biography

Johannes Grosso is Principal Oboe of the Frankfurt Opera House and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

In 2014, Johannes was awarded 1st Prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition. He also won the Giuseppe Tomassini International Competition in Petritoli, the Asian Double Reed Society Competition,  received 2nd prize at the Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition and was awarded the Vegh Sandor Competition Prize.

He is regularly invited to perform as soloist with leading European orchestras and under famous conductors such as Christoph von Dohnányi, Daniele Gatti or Gábor Takács-Nagy.

Johannes Grosso frequently gives master classes and teaches in various music academies. In 2018, he was appointed Professor at the Norwegian Music Academy in Oslo.
