Alexei Ogrintchouk

Biography
A graduate of the prestigious Gnessin School of Music and the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Maurice Bourgue, Alexei Ogrintchouk is originally from Moscow. His career was launched in 1998 upon winning 1st Prize at the Geneva International Music Competition. Since then, he has led an intense international career as soloist and chamber musician, performing across Europe, the United States and Japan with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and most renowned artists. He was appointed first solo oboist at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 20 and has held this same position at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2005.
Ogrintchouk now combines his solo and orchestral commitments with conducting engagements, leading prestigious ensembles such as the Verbier Chamber Orchestra, Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Kremarata Baltica, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne and Brussels Philharmonic.
Alexei Ogrintchouk is Professor at the Haute École de Musique de Genève and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. His wide-ranging discography includes recordings as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor.

ONLINE RECITAL: 13-19 SEPTEMBER 2021
32 oboists aged 19 to 39 from 19 nationalities have been selected to participate in the 75th Geneva International Music Competition, section Oboe. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the first part of the 2021 Competition is held online. Selected candidates had until August 15th to submit their video recordings of the Online Recital, which will be streamed virtually from 13-19 September 2021 on www.concoursgenve.ch, YouTube and Facebook. Results will be announced on Sunday 19 September, 1:00 PM (GMT+2).
