Leonard Weiss

Semi-finalist of the Conducting Competition 2025-2026

Biography

Australian conductor Leonard Weiss debuts in 2026 with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Munich Biennale, Boston Symphony, Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, Adelaide and Queensland Orchestras, and Orchestra Victoria. In 2025 he was a Tanglewood Music Center Conducting Fellow, won the Khachaturian Competition and Third Prize in the Toscanini Competition. Leonard was Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor (2024 & 2025) and New Zealand Assistant Conductor in Residence (2022), with reinvitations this season. He studied with Marin Alsop at Peabody, and the Australian Conducting Academy.
