Seung-Jick Kim

3rd Prize ex aequo Voice 2016

Born in Wonju, Korea, Seung Jick Kim quickly revealed himself to his compatriots by winning several prizes in Korea. He began his studies at the Kangwong University of Arts, where he obtained the title of “Kangwon Future Talent”, which has provided him with a scholarship since 2007. He was then admitted to the prestigious Seoul National University, where he is currently finishing his studies.

In 2013, Seung Jick Kim won the Dong-A Competition, one of the most prestigious in Korea, and in 2014, he was finalist at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. He has given many concerts in Korea and has appeared in the roles of Tamino, Rodolfo and Giuseppe (La Traviata). Recent appearances include Faust in Gounod’s opera at the Seoul Metropolitan Opera.
