Gabriel Pernet

Biography

Swiss conductor Gabriel Pernet is a recent recipient of the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Conducting Academy, the Paavo Järvi Scholarship, and the Audience Award of the 2024/25 Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich Conductors Academy. He has worked with ensembles including the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Kammerorchester Basel, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, and the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. Since 2019, he has been principal conductor, artistic director, and co‑founder of the Orchestre Symphonique en Vogue. Based in Zurich, he studies at the ZHdK with Christoph‑Mathias Müller and regularly with Johannes Schlaefli, and has taken part in masterclasses with Jaap van Zweden, Paavo Järvi, and Daniele Gatti.
