Noted for its extraordinary stage presence, the Quatuor Hanson was awarded 3rd Prize and Audience Prize at the Lyon Competition in April 2015. It is also laureate of the 2014 Fnapec “Musique d’Ensemble” Competition. The Quatuor Hanson was founded in 2013 at the Paris Conservatory in the class of Jean Sulem, where it is currently pursuing its studies. In 2015, it furthered its training in Vienna with Johannes Meissl and became a member of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy), where it received coaching from Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartett), Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartett) and Miguel Da Silva (Quatuor Ysaÿe). It also had the opportunity to perfect itself with Claire Désert, from the Trio Wanderer, and regularly receives advice from the Quatuor Ebène.

The Quatuor Hanson regularly performs in major French venues (Maison de la Radio, Opéra de Lyon, Cité de la Musique, Salle Cortot, Invalides, Archives Nationales). It has also performed at prestigious festivals such as La Roque d’Anthéron, Pablo Casals Festival, Kalkalpen Kammermusik Festival in Austria, Les Chaises Musicales and Festival de La Baule. It regularly performs abroad (Germany, Norway, England, Austria, Italy, Switzerland…). Greatly engaged for Contemporary Music, it performed Figura IV by Matthias Pintscher at the IRCAM Festival Manifeste. The Quatuor Hanson has been in Residence at the Singer-Polignac Foundation since 2015.
