David Fischer

David Fischer is part of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble since the 2019/20 season. This year he can be seen as Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette, Third Jew in Salome and Steuermann in Der fliegende Holländer.

Before his engagement in Düsseldorf he sang in the ensemble of the Bonn Opera, i.a. the roles of Jaquino (Fidelio), Horace Adams (Peter Grimes), Remendado (Carmen), Pang (Turandot) and many more. He is also a regular guest at the Leipzig Opera house.

Previous engagements in the concert scene led David Fischer to the Berlin Philharmonie under Sylvain Cambreling (Pulcinella), to the NDR Hannover (Johannes-Passion, Andrew Manze), on an Asian tour with the FBO under René Jacobs (Don Giovanni) and with Frieder Bernius on a German tour (Die erste Walpurgisnacht).

Among the upcoming concerts, David Fischer will frequently be heard with Haydn. He will perform Die Schöpfung at the Victoria Hall Geneva early this year and on a Europe tour under the batton of Philippe Herreweghe in summer. In Spring, Die Jahreszeiten will lead him to the Tonhalle Düsseldorf under Ádám Fischer.

A selection of further concerts are Händel's Messiah at the Philharmonie Köln, Bach's Matthäus-Passion at the Ludwigskirche Nürnberg and the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Stravinsky's Pulcinella at the Concert Hall Warsaw and Mozart's Zauberflöte at the Festival de Beaune in France.

David Fischer maintains a close liaison with his finnish Lied partner Pauliina Tukiainen, with whom he gave Lied recitals at the Swiss Festival classique des Haudères, in Geneva and at the Schumannfest Bonn.

In closing of the year 2016, David Fischer won the international music competition Concours de Genève.

Within the 48th Easter Festival of the Berlin Philharmonics, he made his début in 2015 at the Baden-Baden Theater as Trémolini (La Princesse de Trébizonde, Offenbach).

David Fischer completed his singing studies in Freiburg with Reginaldo Pinheiro and also took master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender.

At the age of three he took his first violin lessons and won the German federal competition Jugend musiziert in the solo violin category 12 years old.
