Andrey Gugnin
Biography
Andrey graduated from the Moscow Conservatory studying under Professor Vera Gornostayeva and pursued postgraduate studies with her. In 2013, he took second prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna. In 2014, he was a gold medallist at the 16th Gina Bachauer Piano International Competition in Salt Lake City (USA), where he was also awarded the Audience Prize. In 2016, he won 1st Prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia. Following these victories, he has appeared in many prestigious concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, and is to record a solo disc under the label Steinway & Sons. His concerts have been heard in over twenty countries around the world. In Moscow, he has performed at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Hall and the International House of Music. Andrey Gugnin has a strong interest in chamber performances and has participated in many festivals, including the Musical Olympus and Art November festivals, the Lake Ohrid Summer Festival in Macedonia and the Ruhr Piano Festival, in Germany.
