Competition programme

Voice

The 30 contestants have been selected on the basis of audio recordings consisting of 3 pieces: one aria from the 17th or 18th century, one opera aria from the 19th or 20th century, one melody or one Lied of candidate’s free choice.

Recital (20 to 25 min.) - November 13 & 14 (2 pm & 7 pm)
- 1 Oratorio Aria.
- 2 Opera Arias from different periods.
- 1 melody in French.
- 1 Lied in German.
- 1 melody in different language.
- At least 1 of the above arias or melodies must have been composed after 1950.

Semi-final (12 candidates – 25 to 30 min.) - November 17 (1 pm & 7 pm)

Compulsory piece by FRANCESCO HOCH : I Tre Tiranni.
- Rest of the programme of candidate’s free choice. The originality, the choice of the repertoire and its variety will also be a determining factor.

Final (6 finalists) - November 21 (8 pm)
- 1 Opera Aria chosen from a large list of renowned operas.
- 1 Oratorio Aria or 1 melody with orchestra chosen from a list.

String quartet

The 14 contestants have been selected based on audio recordings consisting of 3 works: 2 movements from one classical quartet by Haydn or Mozart, 2 movements from one romantic or modern quartet (composed between 1830 and 1930), one 20th century piece.

Recital (60 min. maximum) - November 12 & 13 (11 am, 2.30 pm & 7 pm)

1 quartet by Mozart (chosen from a list).
- 1 from the six quartets by Béla Bártok.

Semi-final (6 candidates – 70 min. maximum) - November 16 & 17 (1 pm)

1 quartet by Haydn (chosen from a list).
- Compulsory piece by ARTUR AKSHELYAN : In Memoriam
- 1 quartet composed between 1830 and 1930.

 Final (3 finalists) - November 21 (8 pm)
- 1 quartet by Beethoven or Schubert (chosen from a list).
- 1 quartet composed in the 20th century of candidate’s free choice.
